"Discovering, re-discovering and owning the territory of our physical landscape is a fundamental need... the creative task of reclaiming the land we live in is an ongoing adventure." ~ Ya'acov Darling Khan
Movement Medicine® is a creative, embodied practice rooted in ancient wisdom and scientific understanding. Through dance, we align body-heart-mind; connect to the wellspring of resilience, creativity, and resources within; and touch the spirit of our essential being.
In each class, we will explore the foundational practices of Movement Medicine: Awakening the Dancer, MESA, the Tree of Life, Elemental Awareness, and Yin/Yang/Yeung. In movement, we experience the earth of our body, the fluidity of our limbs, the fire in our belly, and the spaciousness of our mind. Discover the joy of movement as medicine and reconnect to the intelligence of your body and the mystery and magic of life.

About us: Thomas Lucas is a licensed IFS psychotherapist, who is also trained in AEDP and somatic-based EMDR. Carolyn Cooke is a certified Gestalt Coach and a lifelong student of embodied learning and movement. We have spent years on the dance floor discovering how we move - alone and together. In 2019 we committed to the Movement Medicine path and completed a year-long apprenticeship with Ya’Acov & Susannah Darling Khan, the founder of Movement Medicine. In 2025 we completed our Movement Medicine Professional Training.
This workshop welcomes both complete beginners and experienced movers. There is no choreography to get right, and no dance experience or ability is necessary, just a willingness to move and explore the familiar and unknown.
Cancellation Policy: A full refund is available up to 7 days before each class. $5 administration fee charged if cancelled within 2 days of the class.
